Elise Cerino has been a parishioner at
St. Odilo for 17
years and a teacher in the Reading Resource Center for five. She truly
appreciates St. Odilo, from where she has already seen two of her
children
graduate. Mrs. Cerino works with children to break down reading and
make it
understandable. “With first and second grades we focus on phonics,
sight words,
sounding out words, and long and short vowels. With third and fourth
grades I
focus on decoding words, reading comprehension, and vocabulary.” Mrs.
Cerino
enjoys seeing the progress each child has made by the end of the year.
“My goal
is to create a challenge for them. It's gratifying to see the looks on
their
faces when they know they have given the correct answer.”
